Cargo Insurance

Cargo Insurance
Cargo insurance (also called goods-in-transit or all-risk insurance) is a policy the shipper or consignee takes out on the value of the goods themselves; it pays out for loss, damage, or theft at the goods' actual value even if the carrier's fault is never proven.

This is different from CMR insurance: CMR insurance covers a carrier's own limited liability under the CMR Convention (8.33 SDR per kilogram), while cargo insurance covers the goods' full value regardless of carrier fault. On shipments carried by Dealti Logistics, carrier liability is limited to the CMR Convention; shippers who want full-value protection arrange it separately through a cargo insurance policy.
