Proof of delivery (POD) is the confirmation that goods were delivered to the consignee, typically the signed copy of the CMR consignment note. It records who accepted the goods, when, and in what condition, including any reservations noted at the time.
In Dealti's process, the POD is the signed CMR returned by the consignee at delivery. It closes the paper trail for that shipment and, together with any reservations recorded at loading or delivery, is the primary evidence if a claim over damage, shortage or delay is raised later.
