The CMR consignment note is the transport document required for international road freight under the 1956 CMR Convention. On the Turkey to Central Asia corridor, the CMR travels with every truckload shipment alongside the transit document (T1 or TIR Carnet). It is completed at loading, checked and signed at delivery, and the signed copy becomes the proof of delivery. Reservations noted on the CMR at loading or delivery are the primary evidence if a claim is later raised over damage, loss or delay.
